How to Sell Equipment
You’re steps away from putting your equipment in front of thousands of buyers
-
Take Digital Photos
To maximize value when selling online it is crucial to provide quality pictures of every part of your equipment. Buyers will not have the opportunity to inspect equipment in person, so it’s important to take pictures showing the whole item from all the different sides, as well as close-up shots of all the smaller details buyers will want to see.
-
Consign Your Equipment
Our web-based consignment tool allows you to quickly describe your equipment, upload photos and define an Asking Price (minimum selling price.) Consigning with an Asking Price requires a fee of $25 per item. At the end of your consignment session you’ll be asked to pay your Asking Price fees with Visa or MasterCard. If you’ve consigned several items with Asking Prices, all the fees can be paid in one simple credit card transaction from our online shopping cart.
-
Let us do the Marketing
Our Market Managers will position your equipment to sell. Consigning on PentonEquipmentAuctions.com promotes your equipment to thousands of bidders by placing it on multiple Web sites and e-mail blasts to thousands of buyers across the country. Maximizing the opportunities to get your items sold.
-
Watch Buyers Compete
Once the auction opens, you’ll be able to track bid logs for all your items in the My Market section of the site. While bidding is open our Market Makers will actively communicate with bidders for you and may request additional information from you on a potential buyer’s behalf.
-
Release Your Equipment and Get Paid

Once bidding concludes, we will collect payment from the buyer, and send you a Presentation of Buyer (POB) form that will allow you to know who purchased your equipment. Soon after that the buyer will contact you directly to schedule removal. When that buyer shows up they will show you their copy of the POB so that you can be confident they have paid. At this time you will need to transfer titles into their name. Then simply have the buyer sign your copy of the POB and e-mail or fax it to us. Then we will release the proceeds from the auction to you.
